A shirt has several components: one-piece back, usually pleated or
gathered; one-piece sleeves with plackets at the wrist, or else short
-sleeved (cut off above the elbow), though this is untraditional; a band
of fabric around each wrist known as a cuff; the collar, a strip around
the neck, which is normally a turndown collar, with the strip folded down
away from the neck, leaving two points at the front, the width of
which is known as the spread; a section of fabric behind the neck
and over the shoulders known as the yoke, either one-piece or split
in half vertically in the middle; and finally two front panels which overlap
slightly down the middle on the placket to fasten with buttons
A high quality traditional shirt has long tails, extending almost
to the knees at the back, and so has seven or eight buttons.
The vertical strip of fabric running down the front opening is
called the placket, and gives a more symmetrical appearance
to the joint between the left side, on top, and the right. This left
over right order is also seen in waistcoat and coat fastenings,
though women's clothing buttons the other way (right over left).
The buttonholes, aligned vertically, are placed on the placket,
though the top button and buttons at the bottom of stiff fronts are
aligned horizontally. The buttonholes are one of the few places
where the difference between hand and machine stitching can be
observed while the shirt is being worn, and fashion designers
sometimes use contrasting thread here or on the buttons themselves
for extra impact.
The process is much like that of . where you design your own shirt by
picking out fabric, styles, details--the whole nine yards. And while both
sites look nice, Blank Label gives off a more youthful, edgy vibe; this is
neither better nor worse. In fact, I kinda dig it because depending on
what kind of person you are, you have a service that caters to how you
like doing things.
Now, speaking of ShirtsMyWay, it recently unveiled the 2.0 version of its
Web site, which streamlines the process and adds even more options
. How many more? Well, according to the site, enough options to allow
for trillions of combinations. If you want to be clever, I suppose you could
theoretically have an infinite number of variations, assuming you used the
monogram option to stitch the digits of pi ad infinitum.This is probably where
you're asking, "What about the shirts?" Well, I have to say that the shirt I create
d through Blank Label is pretty sweet; it looks nice, is comfy, and fools people
into I'm remotely mature.
THE has 65 fabric choices and bases the price of the
shirt on the base fabric, whereas Blank Label has 50 choices bu
t starts with a lower price that increases depending on having to
actually leave my house to buy clothes. If you know of more sites that
allow for customization (of clothes, food, lightsabers, what have you),
share them in the comments. I can't cover each one, but at leas
t they'll all be in one place for you to see them.
You can either take measurements from a shirt that already fits
well or from your body. By taking these measurements you get a
shirt that fits great as each part of your upper body is taken into
consideration. This avoids excess fabric around the waist or too
long/short sleeves.

Wow! what a great shirts.. I like the designs & petterns and lookwise alll the above shirts are fabulous. I especailly likes the white shirt with the folded sleves as it can be used as the dress shirts. As always White is my favorite color and i definitely go for it.
